On March 23, 2026, on the occasion of “Green Week”, SRBB members Iris Maria Tusa, Ovidiu Corneliu Vranceanu and Roxana Elena Cristian participated in a meeting with students from the George Coșbuc National College. The topic of the discussion was the Antarctic expedition, a topic that aroused the interest of all participants.
The students were very involved and curious, asking numerous questions about the extreme conditions, life in Antarctica and the challenges of such an expedition. The discussion also included what it means to be a researcher, as well as the stages that must be completed to follow such a career, from academic training to involvement in scientific projects.
The meeting took place in an interactive atmosphere, and the discussions were constructive and captivating. In the end, a new meeting was set, which will take place after the samples brought from Antarctica have been processed in the laboratories of the National Institute for Research and Development for Biological Sciences and the University of Bucharest.
