The Romanian Society of Bioengineering and Biotechnology (SRBB), together with its partners BT Production Group and BlueSpace Technology, announces the sponsorship of the scientific expedition to Antarctica, organized at the Korean King Sejong Station on the Barton Peninsula, operated by the Korean Polar Research Institute (KOPRI), located on King George Island in western Antarctica, formed by a team of researchers from the National Research and Development Institute for Biological Sciences (INCDSB) and researchers from the University of Bucharest.
This expedition represents a scientific endeavor of major importance, aiming to study microbial biodiversity, the adaptations of organisms to extreme conditions and the impact of climate change on polar ecosystems. The research results will significantly contribute to the development of innovative biotechnologies, the understanding of fundamental biological processes and to increasing Romania’s visibility in the international scientific community.
Through this partnership, SRBB reaffirms its commitment to supporting scientific research as an investment in the future. The support provided aims to ensure the logistical resources necessary to carry out the expedition. We are honored to support this expedition in Antarctica and to contribute to the progress of Romanian science internationally”.
For their part, representatives of BT Production Group, BT Production and BlueSpace Technology emphasize the importance of involving the business environment in projects with major scientific and social impact, aimed at supporting sustainable development and technological innovation.
The expedition will take place from January 25 till February 15 and the scientific results will be capitalized through publications and/or applied research projects.
